The National Auxiliary and delegates are so excited to have Fisher House be our 2018-2020 Human Relations Program!
Not only does Fisher House help out our Veterans, it tremendously helps our Vet’s families. They sacrificed their lives by not having their loved ones at home with them. The family missed them morning, noon and night, birthdays, births, deaths, and holiday after holiday.
We are asking you to donate money to help us in this great cause. If you have a Fisher House in your area, please, contact them directly to find out what their material needs are and if they have room to store the items you collect.
When you donate cash or items, please, let me know what your Auxiliary has donated on a monthly basis so we can keep up to date. We will post what has been given from each District to let you know if maybe you need to step up on your donations. A little competition never hurts! An easy way to collect money is by setting out a jar/can at each meeting and event you attend and ask people to empty their pockets of spare change.
If you have money to donate, checks may be made out to and mailed to:
Bonnie Sevre, Treasurer, Auxiliary to the APWU, 2836 Highway 88, St. Anthony, MN 55418. Include the information about the organization that collected the funds so we give your state or local the credit you deserve. We are very excited about this project and hope that we can count on your support!
Yours in Solidarity,
Chairperson, Human Relations Committee
District 3 Coordinator Auxiliary to the APWU

Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veterans families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital.
These homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world.
Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room and an inviting living room.
Since inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $407 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.
Fisher House Foundation also operates the Hero Miles program, using donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of injured service members as well as the Hotels for Heroes program using donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers without charge. The Foundation also manages a grant program that supports other military charities and scholarship funds for military children, spouses and children of fallen and disabled veterans.
