The National Auxiliary and delegates are so excited to have Sleep in Heavenly Peace be our 2022-2024 Human Relations Program. We are partnering with them so that no kid sleeps on the floor in our towns.

About SHP

Sleep in Heavenly Peace had its start like many other charities, in a garage. It was Christmas time, a time of joy and happiness, a time of giving and love, but also a time of bitter, cold weather and snowstorms. A project that was started with the build of one bed for a single-family developed into something a whole lot more. With wood left over from the first bunk, another idea was created. “Who else could benefit from this bunk”?

SHP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our federal ID is 46-4346568 in the United States. Download 501(c)3 document.

We ask you to donate money to help us in this great cause, or you can help with a build, create a quilt, or donate twin bed sheets, pillowcases, and pillows that make a bed a warm and safe place for a child to sleep safely.

When you donate cash or items, please, let us know what your Auxiliary has donated so we can keep up to date. We will post what has been given from each District.  An easy way to collect money is by setting out a jar/can at each meeting and event you attend and asking people to empty their pockets of spare change.

If you have money to donate, checks may be made out to and mailed to:

Bonnie Sevre, Treasurer, Auxiliary to the APWU, 2836 Highway 88, St. Anthony, MN 55418. Include the information about the organization that collected the funds, so we give your state or local the credit you deserve. We are very excited about this project and hope that we can count on your support!
