Our Legislative Agenda

I am encouraging, you the members of the APWU Auxiliary, to please get involved in the APWU Legislative Issues

We are in the middle of a very important year. We have legislators that must be made to remember how they arrived at where they are today, with all the hard work we did as Auxiliary and union members. We canvassed neighborhoods, we wrote letters, we sent e-mails, we worked in their campaign offices and we worked phone banks. Now is the time to make them accountable for the promises they made. We have many friends in Congress we just have to give them a nudge to make sure the bills that are our priority get co-sponsored and passed.

Your help is needed getting co-sponsors on some of the APWU's priority legislation. Many of our legislators may ultimately support us on some of our issues but we need to urge them to become co-sponsors, and stand with us to help get some of the issues moving. We need to have them help us to put these bills on the front burner before it is too late. Have you and your members talked to or contacted to your Congressional Representatives lately to see why they are not co-sponsors of these important bills? If not please do so. Have you thanked the ones that have already done so. If not please do.
